Question

What is the difference between zero polynomial and zeroes of the polynomial

Open in App
Solution

The zero polynomial is the polynomial whose coefficients are all zero, usually written as 0.

Alternatively, it is the polynomial that has no terms. It is the only polynomial whose degree is undefined .

Zeroes of a polynomial are the solutions of the polynomial, also known as the roots of an equation.

For example for x^2-3x+2=0
ie., (x-1)(x-2)=0

therefore, 1 and 2 are the roots of the eqn. above
