$=\frac{a{x}_1+b{y}_1+c}{\sqrt{a^2+b^2}}$

Equation of $y$ axis is $x=0$

Distance of point $(5,-7)$ from line $x=0$ is

$=\frac{1\times 5}{\sqrt{1}}$

$=5$ units
