What is the effect of increasing and decreasing temperature on the solubility of the gas in a liquid?

On increasing the temperature the solubility of a gas in a liquid decreases whereas on decreasing temperature the solubility of a gas in liquid increases. This shows that the solubility of a gas in a liquid is inversely proportional to temperature.
