Change in state of matter due to heat- increasing heat
Heating the matter increases the energy of particles whereas cooling the matter decreases the energy of particles.
This change in energy brings a change in the state of matter.
Solids change into liquids, and liquids into gases when particles of matter gain more kinetic energy.
When a solid is heated, its temperature increases.
Its particles gain kinetic energy from heat and start vibrating faster. This continues till the matter reaches its melting point.
It is a point when the further increase in heat does not increase the temperature.
If heat is continued at the melting point, a stage comes the force of attraction between them is overcome and the particles start moving away from their fixed positions, thus changing from solid to the liquid state.
