Solution

The correct option is B ATP
The end product of oxidative phosphorylation is ATP. Oxidative phosphorylation is a process in which ATP is formed during respiration.

The transfer of electrons from NADH and FADH2 to O2 occurs in the electron transport chain. In the inner mitochondrial membrane the four complexes which accept and carry electrons released from NADH+H+ and FADH2 are present. These complexes form the electron transport chain.

As the electrons move through different complexes, they release energy. This energy is utilized to pump protons from the matrix to the intermembrane space due to which a proton gradient is generated. This increases the concentration of protons in the intermembrane space and creates a driving force.

Later protons move through complex V (ATP synthase) and there is synthesis of ATP. This synthesis of ATP is called oxidative phosphorylation.

Oxygen is the terminal acceptor of electrons in the electron transport system. It accepts electrons and picks protons to form water. If oxygen does not accept electrons, the electron transport chain stops to work.

Pyruvate is the end product of the glycolytic pathway.

Acetyl CoA is the connecting link between the link reaction (oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate) and the Krebs cycle.
