Given, equivalent weight of the metal oxide = 28 g
Since n-factor (nf) of oxygen atom is 2, the equivalent weight of O atom = molar massnf=162=8
equivalent weight of the metal,
= 28 - 8 = 20 g
Also, equivalent weight of H atom
= molar massnf=11=1
The equivalent weight of metal hydride = 20 + 1 = 21 g
