Given, equivalent weight for the metal oxide = 20 g
Since n-factor (nf) of oxygen atom is 2
So, the equivalent weight of O atom = molar massnf=162=8
equivalent weight of metal = 20 - 8 = 12 g
Also, equivalent weight of H atom = molar massnf=11=1
The equivalent weight of metal hydride = 12 + 1 = 13 g
