Question

What is the error in surface area of the sphere, when error in measuring it's radius is 2%?

Open in App
Solution

Given, error in radius of sphere is 2%
it means ∆r = 2%

now, surface area of sphere is

A = 4πr^2

∆A/A = (2×∆r/r)

∆A/A = 2×2/100 = 0.04

∆A/A×100 = 0.04×100 = 4℅

it means % error in surface area of its measurement is 4%
