NALCO is National Aluminium Company Limited and BALCO is Bharat Aluminium Company Limited. It is a Navratna group ‘A’ CPSE having integrated and diversified operations in mining, metal and power under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. BALCO was incorporated in the year 1965 as a Public Sector Undertaking and it was the Public sector until 2001, when it was taken over by Vedanta Resources.
