Solution

Neuron:

The structure of a neuron consists of three parts namely, the cell body, dendrites, and axon which play a role in sending and receiving signals.

Dendrite:

  1. Dendrites are branched cytoplasmic projections of the neuron’s cell body that receive signals from the axons of other neurons.
  2. The main function of dendrites is as follows:
  1. Dendrites have receptors for the neurotransmitters that are released in the synapse from the axons when stimulated by an electrical impulse.
  2. The receptors receive the signals and process them before they are transmitted to the cell body.
