  3. There are three types of neurons sensory, motor and mixed neurons.

Motor neuron:

  1. A neuron that carries motor impulses from the central nervous system to a specific effector organ or tissue is known as a motor neuron.
  2. They have a short dendrite and a long axon.
  3. Motor neurons are also known as efferent neurons.
  4. The motor neuron plays a role in the movement, including voluntary and involuntary movements this neuron allow the brain and spinal cord to communicate with muscles, organs, and glands all over the body.
