What is the function of Parenchyma in root and stem ?

parenchyma cells are found in primary stem and root. they are usually the "filler" tissue in the soft parts of plants (which include primary stem and root)
the functions include:-
  • wound repair , renewed meristematic activity (a zone where growth takes place)eg: stem shoot.
  • storage of starch, protein, fat, oil (in the stem)and water (in both roots and stems).
