What is the function of seminal roots ?

Adventitious roots produced from the radicle of the seed constitute seminal roots. These are found at the base of the stem of monocotyledons and perform the functions of anchorage of the plant, water and mineral salt absorption from the soil, and conduction of the same to the leaves.
