Solution
Spectrometer
Spectro-photometer works on the Beer-Lambert Law which states that the amount of light absorbed is directly proportional to the concentration of the solute in the solution and the thickness of the solution under analysis.
Spectrometer is used to analyse spectral components of a physical phenomenon. This instrument collects light waves from materials and measures the variation of a physical characteristic over a given range. These waves are used to determine the material that emitted the energy. Also to create a frequency spectrum.
In visible light a spectrometer can separate white light and measure individual narrow bands of color called a spectrum.
A mass spectrometer measures the spectrum of the masses of the atoms or molecules present in a gas.
5. Collimator is placed at one end of the entire spectrometer. This helps to adjust the slit so as to fit at the focus of the lens. This provides a sharp parallel beam of light.
