Step 1: a) Carbon brush:

• A current-carrying brush made up of amorphous carbon, carbon, and graphite, or carbon and copper.
• It is used to conduct electrical current between the stationary and rotating parts of the motor.

Step 2: b) Slip rings

• Slip ring is also called a commutator.
• It reverses the direction of current after every half rotation of the coil and makes the coil rotate in a single direction. The split rings are fixed with shaft ft and it will rotate when the coil rotates.
