Pyloric sphincter:

The pyloric sphincter is referred to as a bunch of visceral muscles at the attaching point between the pylorus of the stomach and the duodenum of the small intestine.

Functions of the pyloric sphincter:

1. It has an essential role in digestive processes.
2. It performs the function of a valve, to control the flow of digested food through the stomach to the small intestine.
3. It only allows food to pass through when they are mixed well with gastric juices for digestion.
4. It also protects the reverse peristaltic movement of food.
5. Bile can be observed in the digestive tract when abnormalities in the pyloric sphincter happen.
