What is the function of valves present in the heart?

There are four valve present in the heart which helps in regulation of blood flow. Blood flow in a particular direction with right rate.
The tricuspid valve allow blood to pumped to the ventricle below.
The pulmonary valve: Ventricle contracts and pump blood through pulmonary valve to lungs.
Mitral valve: Blood passed from left atrium to ventricle below.
Aortic valve: This valve open and allow blood to travel through aorta to blood vessel throughout the body.
