Heat produced (q) when 4 g of anhydrous solid is added to 50 g of water can be calculated using the below equation:

q = cmΔT

where, q = Heat produced
c = specific heat capacity of water, c = 4.18 kJ kg1 oC1
m= 50 g
ΔT = 8oC
