Solution

The correct option is C 2.0 m
Waves are generated on the surface of reservoir by the blowing winds, which causes a pressure towards the downstream side. Wave pressure depends upon the wave height. Wave height in metres may be given by the equation.

(i) For F < 32 km

hW=0.032VF+0.7630.271(F)3/4

(ii) For F> 32 km

hW=0.032VF

where V is wind velocity in km/hr and F is fetch in km.
hW=0.03280×50

=2.02m
