Hydrogenation: A reaction in which Hydrogen molecules are added to unsaturated compounds in the presence of a catalyst is called a hydrogenation reaction also it is called a reduction reaction.

The hydrogenation of vegetable oils is liquid at room temperature.

Hydrogenation is a process in which vegetable oils are converted into solid vegetable ghee (vanaspati ghee) by treating with Hydrogen in the presence of Nickel(Ni) as a catalyst.
