The $n t h$ term of an A.P. is given by the expression,
$a_{n} = a + (n - 1) d$
Where $a$ is the first term and $d$ is the common difference.
We have to find the first four terms of the A.P. which has $a = - 1, d = \frac{1}{2}$ .
$a_{1} = a = - 1 a_{2} = a + d = - 1 + \frac{1}{2} = - \frac{1}{2} a_{3} = a + 2 d = - 1 + 2 (\frac{1}{2}) = 0 a_{4} = a + 3 d = - 1 + 3 (\frac{1}{2}) = \frac{1}{2}$
Hence, the first four terms of the given A.P. are $- 1, - \frac{1}{2}, 0, \frac{1}{2}$ .
