Magnetic field lines originate from North Pole of a magnet and enter into the South Pole of a magnet (outside the magnet). The radial magnetic field refers to the direction of field lines. A radial magnetic field ensures that the plane of the coil rotating within the magnetic field is always perpendicular to the external magnetic field ensuring maximum torque in all positions.
Importance and production of radial magnetic field : In a radial magnetic field, magnetic torque remains maximum for all positions of the coils.
It is produced due to cylindrical pole pieces and soft iron core.
