  1. It is a property associated with bodies moving with uniform speed along a straight line.
  2. It is the property of a body by virtue of which it is unable to change its state of uniform motion along a straight line.
  3. For example, A man riding a running horse falls in the forward direction if the horse, suddenly, comes to a stop.
  4. The lower part of his body comes to rest along with the horse while the upper part is still in motion.
  5. Due to the property of inertia of motion, he falls forward.
