Glucose has 4 chiral carbons in its aldehyde form. So there are 16 possible stereoisomers for glucose. But these are not significant and we consider mainly the optical isomers.Among the optical isomers, D isomer ie D glucose is widely present in nature whereas L glucose is not abundant.
Sugar (Sucrose) has fructose and glucose linked together using glycosidic linkage. Here isomer would be L-glucopyranosyl .
