Solution

Neuromuscular junction :

  1. The sarcolemma is the outermost covering or the plasma membrane of a muscle cell.
  2. This membrane possesses the quality of excitability due to which the muscle either contracts or relaxes.
  3. In order to be excited, it must be associated with a nerve fibre or a neuron which provides the electrical impulse.
  4. The junction between the sarcolemma of a muscle fibre and the motor neuron is called as Neuromuscular junction or NMJ.
