Largest blood vessel in the body is carotid systemic or dorsal aorta.

Dorsal Aorta:

  1. Dorsal aorta arises from the left ventricle of heart. It travels just beneath the vertebra and above the dorsal surface of the kidney.
  2. It is like a question marked shaped long vessel.
  3. From the left atrium blood flows into the left ventricle.
  4. The left ventricle pumps the blood to the aorta which will distribute the oxygenated blood to all parts of the body.
