Let the two trains of length `x' metres and `y' metres be moving in opposite directions at `u' m/s and `v' m/s.

Time taken to cross each other =(x+y)(u+v)sec.

Now, y = 360, u + v =(300×518)m/sec=2503m/sec.

18=x+360(250/3)x=(1500360)=1140m.

Thus, both I and II are necessary to get the answer.
