Solution

Heterosphere:

  1. The heterosphere is the upper portion of the earth's atmosphere that lies above the homosphere.
  2. On average the heterosphere begins at an altitude of about 80 km.

Hence, at 80 km to the outer reach of the atmosphere from the surface of the Earth, the atmosphere is called the heterosphere.
