By the free body diagram of the block,

condition for equilibrium is,
Fsin53o=μN+mg,
where weight of the block is given as 12 N, and μ=0.5

Balancing the forces in horizontal direction
N=Fcos53o

By substituting the value of N in the above equation we get,
F=mgsin53oμcos53o=12450.5×35

F=24 N

Hence option C is the correct answer.
