Solution

Step 1:Given:

Distance, r=50cm.

Magnetic moment, m=0.40Am2.

Step 2:To Find:

The magnitude of the equatorial and axial fields.

Step 3:Calculate magnitude of the equatorial fields (Beq):

Beq=μ0m4πr3=10-70.404π0.53=3.3×10-7T

Here, μ0 is the constant of permeability.

Step 4:Calculate magnitude of the axial fields (Baxial):

Baxial=2μ0m4πr3=210-70.404π.53=6.4×10-7T

Hence, magnitude of the equatorial fields is 3.3×10-7T ,and the axial field is 6.4×10-7T.
