  1. Skeletal tissue is a connective tissue that is responsible for providing structural framework and movement to the body.
  2. There are two types of skeletal tissues; Bones and Cartilages.

Functions of skeletal tissue -

  1. Bones provide shape and support to the body.
  2. Bones help to anchor muscles and support various organs of the body.
  3. Bones are the calcium and phosphate reserve of the body.
  4. Cartilage links various bones and reduces wear and tear to the bones.
  5. The cartilage gives flexibility to various joints and body parts such as the ear and nose.
  6. Cartilage acts as cushions for the bones of the vertebral column against stress.
