The suspended solid and liquid particles in air are called aerosols.
Aerosols are the group of primary air pollutants that are not directly emitted in the environment.
Aerosols are generated by both natural and anthropogenic activities.
Aerosols are responsible for transmitting infectious diseases to a healthy person such as tuberculosis ,measles, and other infectious diseases.
Sources of Aerosols:
Natural aerosols include sulphate aerosols which are formed by the emissions of sulphur dioxide from volcanic eruptions and sulphide emissions from the phytoplanktons in the oceans .
Anthropogenic aerosols such as sulphate , nitrate and black carbon are generated from human activities, such as burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and burning of agricultural waste.
