Open in App
Solution

One mole of chlorine atoms has a mass of 35.453g. A mole of something means that you have 6.023×1023 units of that something. So if you have a mole of Cl atoms you have 6.023×1023 atoms of Cl. Since a mole of chlorine atoms has a mass of 35.453 g, then any single one of those atoms will have a mass equal to 5.720×1023 grams per atom. (35.453 g/mole÷6.023×1023atoms/mole)
