Solution
Regularity in the spectrum means there is a regularity in the frequency and wavelengths of the atomic spectra. The line spectra becomes more complex and complex as the atomic number of elements increases but still a regular pattern is obtained in these spectra in terms of frequency and wavelengths. The regularity is obtained in every atomic spectra simple or complex and establishing such regularities help to define the energy distribution of electrons of an atoms. For example, Based on these regularities, we observe balmer, paschen etc. series in hydrogen spectra through which we can analyse the energy distribution in hydrogen atom.
