Dear Student,
a. Our Constitution provides for Fundamental rights to all guaranteeing political and legal equality.
b. The constitution also provides for Cultural and educational rights, which allows minority linguistic and religious groups to promote their own distinct culture.
c. This right is included under articles 29 and 30 of the Indian constitution
d. Accordingly, Article 29, provides for freedom to all citizens, to conserve their distinct languages, scripts or cultures and also says that the state shall not impose upon it any culture. This prevents domination of the majority.
e.Article 30 says, provides that all minority groups be it religion or linguistic, " have the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice" and that the state while making a grant or aid to any educational institutions, shall not discriminate on the grounds of religion or language.
f. Cultural and educational rights thus , safeguard the interest of the minorities and protect them from the possible suppression of the majority.
g. It seeks to promote social justice.
h. Also it gives voice to the marginalized groups
