Open in App
Solution

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) refers to the polymer of deoxynucleotides. The nucleotides that have -H group at the 2' position of the ribose sugar are called deoxynucleotides. Such deoxynucleotides are joined together by the phosphodiester bond to form the polymer of DNA. Further, the strands of polynucleotide form hydrogen bonds between the complementary base pairs (adenine forms a double bond with thymine and guanine forms a triple bond with cytosine and vice-versa) to form a fully functional double-stranded and helical molecule of DNA, that serves as genetic material in the living organisms.
