Explain the irony in victory with no survivors
Irony can be seen in the phrase ”victory with no survivors.” Victory should be a cause for celebration and joy for the people. At the same time, triumph becomes a curse when no one is left to appreciate it. If no one is left to bask in the glory of triumph, the victory is rendered useless. The poet adds to the irony by repeating the word ”death” in this verse to demonstrate how humans are scared of dying.
