There is a requirement of energy for life processes like respiration, reproduction, digestion, movement, and other anabolic and catabolic life processes in all the organisms. The development and growth also need different nutritive components such as carbohydrates, protein, and fat.

These functions cannot be performed without nutrition and energy.
