What is the number of lines of symmetry in an equilateral triangle?
3
A figure is said to have a line of symmetry or linear symmetry if there exists a line which divides the figure into two identical halves such that they coincide when folded along this line.
Equilateral triangle is a regular polygon as its all the three sides and angles are equal and for a regular polygon number of lines of symmetry is equal to the number of sides of the polygon.
Hence an equilateral triangle have 3 lines of symmetry as shown below.
