The primordial germ cells undergo mitotic division and increase in number. Some cells of the PMC grows in size and forms the primary spermatocytes. Primary spermatocyte undergoes its first meiotic division and forms two secondary spermatocytes with the polarity of n.
The secondary spermatocyte again undergoes meiosis II and forms four haploid spermatids. Thus from one primary spermatocyte, four spermatids are formed. These spermatids then mature and form the sperms.
