First recall the definition of prime numbers."A prime number is a number which has only two factors 1 and the number itself"List the first 10 prime numbers. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29Multiply the first two prime numbers and add 1 to the resultant 2×3+1=6+1=7 The number 7 is a prime number.Now multiply the first three prime numbers and add 1 to the resultant 2×3×5+1=30+1=31 The number 31 is a prime number.Again, Multiply the first four prime numbers and add 1 to the resultant 2×3×5×7+1=210+1=211 The number 211 is a prime number.Thus it can be noted that if continuous series of prime numbers is multipliedand 1 is added to the resultant, then we again get a prime number.This pattern in prime numbers can be restated as follows:"If a continuous series of prime numbers is multiplied and 1 is added to the product, thenthe resultant number is also a prime number"
