Open in App
Solution

Hormones:

  1. Hormones are the chemical messengers of body.
  2. They travel through bloodstream and send signals to tissues and organs.
  3. Permissive function of hormones means one hormone exterts its full effect only in the presence of other hormone.
  4. For example Thyroid hormone increases the number of beta andregenic receptors.
  5. These receptors are required for epinephrine.
  6. So without thyroid hormone the effect of epinephrine on target cell would be weak.
