Question

What is the phase angle of the source voltage with respect to the current? Does the source voltage lag or lead the current?

Open in App
Solution

XL=ωL=100Ω
XC=1ωC=312.5Ω
Z=R2+(XCXL)2
=(300)2+(312.5100)2=368Ω
Since XC>XL, voltage lags the current by an angle given by
ϕ=cos1(RZ)
=cos1(300368)=35.3o
