Rare earth metals:- These are a group of 15 elements in the periodic table that are referred to as the lanthanide series.Just like their names these metals are very rare in nature. Their atomic numbers are from 57-71. Some examples are- Lanthanum(La), Cerium(Ce), Neodymium(Nd).

Position of the rare earth metals:- These rare earth metals are present in group 3 and period 6 of the periodic table, atomic number 57-71.
