Open in App
Solution

  1. The torsion equation or torsion constant is defined as the geometrical property of a bar’s cross-section that is involved in the axis of the bar.
  2. It has a relationship between the angle of twist and applied torque whose SI unit is m4.
  3. The torsion equation is given as follows:

θ=TLGJ

Where,
- θ is the angle of twist in radians.
- T is the torque applied to the object.
- L is the length of the beam.
- G is the material's modulus of rigidity which is also known as shear modulus.
- J is the Torsional constant.
