Question

What is the probability of A or B?

Open in App
Solution

Probability:

In probability, or means the occurrence of either of the events.

If A and B are the two events, then

P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AandB)

If A and B are mutually exclusive events, then

P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B) [āˆµPAandB=0]

Hence, the probability of A or B is given by P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AandB)
