For a die, possibility of getting either of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 is equal. That is for a die there are 6 equally likely possible outcomes. We say each of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 has one-sixth probability.

So, for an even number to occur i.e, 2 or 4 or 6 the probability will be $\frac{3}{6}$ = $\frac{1}{2}$
