Question

What is the probability of rolling three sixes in a row?

Open in App
Solution

Probability:

The concept of experimental probability can be used to find the probability of rolling three sixes in a row.

Experimental probability is the ratio of the occurrence of the event to the total number of trials.

When a dice is rolled, the possible outcomes are1,2,3,4,5,6.

The number of favorable outcomes is =1

Probability of getting is=16

The probability of independent events is PABC=PA×PB×PC

The same conditions will exist for all three dice. So, the experimental probability will be

16×16×16=1216.

Hence, the probability of rolling three sixes in a row is1216.
