A prime number is a natural number that has only two factors: 1 and the numer itself.

A number which is greater than 1 and is not prime is called a composite number.

$\Rightarrow$ The least prime number is 2 and the least composite number is 4
($\because$ 1 is neither prime nor composite).

$\Rightarrow$ Ratio of the least prime number to the least composite number = $\frac{2}{4}$ = $\frac{1}{2}$ i.e. 1 : 2.

$\therefore$ The required ratio is 1 : 2.
