What is the reciprocal of zero ?

Open in App
Solution

Starting from the basics, reciprocate of a number means inverse of the number. The generalized conditions say that reciprocate is defined as a function such that
f(x) = 1/x. T
o define division, a/b means that a is divided into b number of parts and each part is the answer. Division by zero has no meaning as one can’t divide a quantity into 0 pieces. People say that 1/0 is infinity which is purely insane. The validation can be given such that lim(x tends 0) 1/x is a very huge that it approaches infinity. Upon all these arguments once can clearly infer that 1/0 is undefined.
